Terms & Conditions

Welcome to Capoeira 4 Scotland (C4S). By participating in our classes, workshops, or events — whether in person or online — you agree to the following terms and conditions. These ensure a safe, respectful, and consistent experience for all participants and reflect our commitment to community, inclusion, and meaningful movement.

1. Participation & Eligibility

To join any Capoeira 4 Scotland activity, you must:

  • Be in good physical health or inform us in writing of any relevant conditions, injuries, or health concerns.

  • Be at least 18 years of age, or have written consent from a parent or guardian if under 18.

  • Accept our Liability Waiver (included on sign-up form) and the Membership Fee Agreement (included below).

  • Follow the guidance and safety instructions of our coaching team at all times.

  • Conduct yourself with respect, kindness, and awareness of others’ safety and experience.

2. Membership Fee Agreement

Participation in our regular classes requires agreement to the following membership terms:

A) Membership Payments

All memberships are paid via monthly subscription. Our pricing model reflects the full year of training, with school holidays already factored into the calculation for kids classes and our adult classes run throughout the year. This payment schedule allows us to keep pricing fair, simple, and consistent throughout the year.

We do not offer pay-as-you-go options. However, if you wish to attend extra sessions beyond your regular plan, this can be arranged via top-up payment. Please contact us to confirm availability.

B) Holiday Periods & Additional Classes

Our kids classes follow Glasgow City Council’s school terms, but additional sessions may be offered during in-service days or short holiday periods (e.g. September, February, May), subject to availability. These are included in your membership and open to all active students.

Capoeira Camps during longer holidays (e.g. October, Easter, Summer) are offered separately and are not part of your membership plan.

During our annual Batizado event week (grading and celebration), extra workshops and classes are offered for both kids & adults. These are not included in your regular membership and may carry a separate event fee.

C) Absence & Cancellation Policy

  • If we cancel a class (e.g. due to coach illness or venue unavailability), we will offer a substitute/compensatory class where possible.

  • For student illness, if you notify us at least 24 hours in advance, we will offer a substitute class.

  • For planned absences outside school holidays, we require at least 14 days’ notice.

Refunds or adjustments will only be considered in writing via email.

D) Changing or Cancelling Membership

To increase or reduce your membership, please contact us in writing before making changes to your subscription. Unauthorised cancellations or changes may incur a £10 admin fee.

Your membership is designed to remain active year-round. Holiday breaks are already factored into the monthly fees, so pausing payment during school holidays is not necessary and not permitted unless previously arranged with us.

3. Code of Conduct

We ask every student to:

  • Respect each other’s space, effort, and background.

  • Honour the Afro-Brazilian roots of Capoeira with openness and humility.

  • Use good judgement and follow all safety guidance.

  • Support a positive, inclusive training environment for all.

Any behaviour that compromises safety, well-being, or mutual respect may lead to temporary or permanent removal from the sessions.

4. Media Consent

We occasionally take photographs or videos during classes and events for promotional use. You may choose whether or not to consent.

  • ✅ If you consent, your image may appear in C4S promotional materials (e.g. website, social media).

  • ❌ If you do not consent, please indicate that when signing up or inform us in writing.

Consent can be changed at any time.

5. Agreement Acknowledgment

By signing up to membership with Capoeira 4 Scotland, you acknowledge that:

  • You have read and accepted these Terms & Conditions and the Membership Fee Agreement.

  • You understand that participation involves physical activity and associated risk.

  • You take full responsibility for your own participation and communication regarding health or injury.
